Liebherr LTM1400, Van Seumeren Scale 1:15 Built by Ron Jansen, Netherlands Of LEGO Technic I built a model of the Liebherr LTM1400 of Van Seumeren. The model is built as functional as possible. For the hoist mechanism I used three LEGO-motors of 9V, for the swinging mechanism I used three 12V motors. Due to the weight of the superstructure (the weight of the whole machine is 17 kg!!) some gears of the turntable broke for several times. Some times later I made a new turntable. The truck chassis is 1.35 metres in length. From the eight axles are six steered. In the truck chassis houses a V12 diesel engine with moving pistons. The doors can open and I made three flashing lights. The telescopic boom has a maximum length of 3.3 metres, but I have to do it by hand. The boom cylinders are made of aluminium, the ballast is made of lead. The rest of this model is LEGOs. This crane needs a ballast truck to haul the ballast, pad jackets etc. I've chosen for a six axle Nooteboom ballast trailer with a five axle Black Cat truck. The truck has a heavy loading crane with pneumatics. The four last axles of the trailer are steered. I needed about 320 hours to built both models.
