Launched in 1981 as a replacement for the e12, the e28 continued the design template of its predecessor. Mostly 6-cylinder powered. Highlight was the limited volume M5, using the 3.5L DOHC 24v Inline-six from the M1 Supercar. Only 2241 were built.
