Kim Sin/DJ Kim Sin/Siberian Slammer-- DJ mech designation #72LP-DJ following a bout where Dr. Z flung Betty Anarchy bodily into the impact wall just beneath the DJ booth and announcer's table, Kim commented that she'd like a booth that could dodge all the flying crap endemic to a giant robot rollerderby bout. given that one does not take lightly the requests of the woman who helped found the Womens Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) and later, the Giant Robot Rollerderby League Federation (GRRLFED) this mech was created shortly afterwards. Doktor Klasna worked closely with the freelance raver team the Kandie Korps to build this mech, thus yielding a heavy weapons platform that wields sound as her main assault....with eye-bleeding color as a close second. this mech is also built on a customizeable frame, allowing the subwoofers and massive sonic gauntlets to be removed and interchanged with her other armor systems. while her feet are large and stable enough to keep her upright, she mostly relies on the mask of levitation included with this mod to miminize sonic vibration damage to her surroundings. she also carries a broadband ethernet reciever to broadcast the witty observations and rantings of the announcers. with some slight modifications, this version can skate in a pack, with her shoulder-mounted subwoofers creating sonic concussion waves that can send an opposing mech flying backwards without her having to touch them. Kim occasionally participates in Kandie Korps scrimmages to deafening results. Team Iron Curtain's Siberian Slammer-- Mech designation #00 BF shortly after the DJ version of Kim was created, the Iron Curtain found this to be a perfect opportunity to entice one of their greatest players, the Siberian Slammer, back onto the track with a new armor mod. after a week or so of cajoling, pleading, and threatening Doktor Klasna with a Cher Noble signature atomic wedgie, this soviet-armored version of Kim Sin was constructed. the Slammer armor mod is significantly lighter than the DJ system, but her hitting power has not been reduced in the slightest. her massive gauntlets are given a bit extra danger with the addition of a set of trilaminate pyroxene alloy grappling talons with the same Vibranium core as Polly Graf's quarterstaff. this yields every punch to be a teeth-rattling hit to the unlucky rollergirl on the business end of the Soviet's knuckles. keeping up with the pack is not a problem, as she has a mask of speed equipped to this system. in addition, the shin-mounted subwoofers from the DJ mod are kept and rotated to the back and used as a sonic booster system. using a controlled burst circuit overload, a thump from the speakers creates enough atmospheric displacement to add a quick shot of speed. for braking, the speaker tower "wings" are replaced with a set of adjustable airfoils to create or minimize wind drag. FTW Kim Sin- Mech designation #00 BF not wanting to be upstaged by the Iron Curtain, the Furious Truckstop Waitresses quickly demanded an armor mod for their original team captain. Doktor Klasna agreed, partly from wanting to keep her bot-building momentum up, and partly because she didn't want to get on the wrong sides of Eeka and Jezebelle. this version of Kim Sin utilizes the prototype Fury drive, a system enhancement engine that responds to the pilots' emotional state. the nastier Kim gets, the stronger and faster her mech becomes, and she's almost always ornery. depending on her mood, her destructive capabilities can range from Defcon 5 to Apocalyptic. her main weapon is a massive scythe that can knock other girls around like a high-powered hockey stick. when fully charged, it can rip holes in the space-time continuum and create plot contrivances to her advantage. the tempered-ion booster blades beneath her regular giant jet engines can be used as a second pair of combat arms, inflicting severe armor burns and melting bulkheads. Given her Chuck-Norris-if-the-facts-were-true-like powers, the FTW mod is reserved for dire situations, and for times when it would be the most entertaining.
