Remote Controlled 4x4 Chassis This model is a simple 4x4 chassis fitted with a remote control receiver I got from John Barnes (www.hitechnicstuff.com). The RC receiver will control 4 motors and requires an 8-channel transmitter. The model uses only 3 motors but was really just a test so I could try out JB's new stuff. It worked great and will be very useful in my future MOCs. (Note: wires connecting the RC receiver unit to the 3 motors removed for clarity) The 3 motors power the drive shaft, steering, and a simple gear shift. The shifter is a simple 2 speed: "High and Low", and if worked just right, you can get neutral. The ground clearance on this chassis is amazing, being able to pass over an upright minifig without knocking it over. I also stuck on some ridiculously small wheels (the old model team type) and they actually worked. The suspension is pretty stout. I pounded this thing up and down with my fist and it held together nicely. However, it was a little too slow to chase the cats or to provoke any ABS/feline combat. Anyway, it was just for fun and a test for the R/C stuff. TJA 7-25-01 http://tanyatj.home.texas.net/tjscreations/
