Modifications on 8436-II: I like the design of the 8436 truck but not its pneumatic moduls. The pneumatic cylinders are too weak: You cannot play with either the crane or the towing car because it is nearly impossible to lift any weight. I started trying to make some modifications on the basic module without changing it much. The drivers cabin now is lifted by a pneumatic spring (from 8446), but not as far as before. I moved the seats one hole backwards to be able to fit in technic figures. Playing around with my supply of studless technic beams and because I saw some similar pictures here on brickshelf, I decided to convert the 8436 into a dump truck. The beams and panels are form a couple of 3545, a 8445 and a 8651. The whole unit (yellow & dark gray) is fixed to the chassis at two positions. Only the pneumatic cylinders are mounted with two long pins with fiction directly to it. The pneumatic switch located inside the cabin behind the drivers seat. The pneumatic pump is build into the cabin, too. It is operated from the windshild similar to 8455. WR 2005-06 rothw@arcor.de
