VOLVO FH16.520 8x4 This truck is a Volvo FH16 8x4 of a company called 'Van Wieren' in the Netherlands. The truck is on scale 1:13. It has two steered axles, a driven boogie, tilted driver's cab and the grill can be opened to check the oil every morning. Just like the real one this Volvo has an 6-cylinder in line engine with all details. The Nooteboom lowloader is also built from LEGOs. It has a goose neck, a floor and four steered axles. The goose neck can be separated from the floor with pneumatics. It's length is about 1.8 meter and the truck is loaded with a Sennebogen crawler crane. The crane is typed as '640'. The crane is motorized and can swing with the help of two 4.5V LEGO-motors. The boom can move with a 9V motor and the hoist installation is supplied with a 4.5V motor. The door of the operator's cab can be opened and is supplied with a seat, and all stuff you can find over there. The machine has four doors which can all be opened for e.g. repairs. From there you can see the Caterpillar engine. The boom length is 1.4 metres and is hauled separated from the basic machine. I needed about 250 hours to build it. This model content about 9,000 pieces. Ron Jansen, Netherlands
