Broken motors.
I bought 14 of set 4094 Motor Movers (monkey).  In 6 sets, the motor unit, type 47154, made loud buzzing noises and its internal mechanisms jammed.  The internal motor then rotated without the mechanism turning - the cog slipping on the shaft.  The motor would not correctly operate the fish model made from the set instructions afterwards.
