Hello! Some comments on this experiment. The aim was to create an underwater athmosphere mainly with mlcad, ldraw, lpub functionality and only little changes on the resulting povray code. And I limited myself to parts which are available according to peeron. (This lead to the strange jellyfish ;-) ) There are 6 to 7 lightsources placed above the scenery and between the lightsources and the fish is a layer of 1x2 bricks in clear, transgreen and trans light blue for scattering the light. In the povray source I've changed two things: 1. Pump up the light sources with a factor of 4 or 5 like light_source { <-586.899,-826,-635.239> color rgb 4* <0.8,0.666667,0.4> //shadowless } 2. Adding fog (I really like that :-) ) fog { distance 1000 color rgb<0.5, 0.95, 0.8> } I would like to say to all the people developing ldraw, mlcad, lpub, povray, megapov and further tools that I really admire their voluntary work. ============================================ changes for a better result: 1. added light sources and changed them to spotlight. 2. Increased the size of the layer of 2x1-Transcolor Bricks. Now the layer is visible as the "surface" of the water. 3. Added some tan base plates in the background and 1x1 round plates for a better ground. 4. Increased the distance between light sources and Transcolor bricks layer for a more realistic effect of the light scattering on the ground. (Whatever a "realistic" effect might be in virtual lego).
