LEGO Simon Fraser University This is a 62000-brick LDraw LEGO model of the Academic Quadrangle area of the Simon Fraser University campus in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, including the Academic Quadrangle, the Bennett Library, and the Convocation Mall. The campus, built in 1964, is infamous for its contemporary brutalist architecture reminiscent of the 1950s-1970s concrete shopping centres with their myriad of elevated sections and underground corridors and passageways, much of which also gives it a futuristic look and feel which has led to it being used as a filming location for many TV shows (Stargate SG-1, the remake of Battlestar Galactica, Andromeda, The X-Files) and movies (The Groundstar Conspiracy, The Sixth Day, Anti-Trust, The Day the Earth Stood Still), to name but a few. The brutal squareness of all that concrete actually makes it an ideal model to build with LEGO. Built and rendered with the free LDraw tools MLCad, LDView and POV-Ray.
