I know the pictures are not the best quality and therefore do not reveal the detail present in this model. Nevertheless I hope you can get some impression of what it is and what I was trying to accomplish. This space-plane took over three months to build -- most of that time though was spent prototyping. The actual final draft took about one week to construct. There where three goals I wanted to accomplish in this design they were strength, realism, and play-ability. The strength of this rather large model is accomplished through a rigid frame work stiffened further with a strong connection to the skin. The realism applies to the fully functioning landing gear, the highly detailed cockpit, and the semi aerodynamic shape of the thing. All of this is of course mitigated (read: decreased) by the limits of Lego blocks. I have done my best to make this look like a space-plane one may see in the not too distant future (one were everything is made with giant Lego blocks of course!). The play-ability factor rests mainly on strength; that is, is this thing strong enough to be handled while I am pretending to fly it around my apartment, fortunately it is. Stats: Length (in inches):21.5 Wingspan:16 Body at thickest point: 2.5 Number of blocks (est): 3000 Weight: 9 lbs Any questions or comments feel free to e-mail me: brentlymills@hotmail.com Thanks, B.
