Wheel Loader -------------------------------- This Wheel Loader MOC is the work of Nico71 ( http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=321076) who has presented a wonderful set of photographic instructions. Using these instructions, I built the MLCAD file which is also presented here. - Drive: The vehicle is 4 wheel drive and driven by a single Power Functions XL motor. There is a differential on both the front and the rear axle. There is no center diff, so the front and back must always be driving together. - Steering: The vehicle steers with a worm driven articulated chassis turned by a Power Functions M motor. The steering wheel in the cab turns with the vehicle steering. - PF: There are two motors, the PF XL and M mentioned above. The body also contains the 9V battery box and a single IR receiver allowing remote control of the motorized functions. - Bucket: The bucket lifts with a pair of parallel pneumatic cylinders and dumps with a single pneumatic cylinder. The pneumatic pressurization system is not on board so there are no switches. An umbilical provides the air pressure remotely. - Statistics: About 900 parts. 3 pneumatic cylinders, 2 Electric motors, 1 IR receiver. I made a number of renders of this model. The first two just show the WIP as I built the model. The others show variations of radiosity and HDR settings. - Blakbird 2009
