André Gide (1869-1951) was a French writer, he actually won the Nobel price in 1947. For more information, please have a look on Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andre_Gide ). Some years ago I read a recension in »Die Zeit«. The article closed with the most beautiful quote I ever read: »Dann herrschte tiefes Schweigen, und während ich in Schlaf sank, lichtete das Haus den Anker für die Reise durch die Nacht.« I just can admit a vague translation in English. It is roughly speaking: “Deep silence reigned and while I was falling asleep, the house weight his anchor for the journey through the night.” The MOC is two years old, but it would be pitty not to show it. Thanks for reading, Barbara
