BrikWars Campaign ----------------- The First Battle - The Platform ---------------- The first battle will be a land, air, and sea battle on Sunday, August 6th. If this is not good for you, email me. It will center around a huge platform in the middle of the ocean. This platform hosts 3 "power sources", which are the objective in the game. Note these "power sources" are different than the power generators that provide power to the base. A design sketch of the platform can be seen at: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=900 Setup will be as follows(there are some special rules here): 1. TL4. This will avoid giant, all powerful guns, which would unbalance this game. We can change this if you'd like, but I think it would be more fun this way. You can still use your spacemen or castlemen, they just have to use modern weaponry. :) 2. 600 CP limit. You are on your own honor not to go over this. 3. All of your forces start out in the ocean. This means all troops are in or on a vehicle on the first turn. 4. Flyers must be landed the first turn of the game. Since all things are floating, this means you must build a carrier or small barge to put them on. This rule is to prevent very quick captures of the objective. A small barge (20 x 20 studs) with no weapons is very cheap and should not cost more than 20 cp. 5. We will roll to decide what order to deploy in. You will have detailed pictures of the battlefield beforehand, so you can plan your attack and know exactly what you are going to do, if you so choose. If there are 3 people playing that day, each will start with a small squad at the base of the platforms, with the rest of your forces a ways out. If there are 4 or more players, everyone will start a ways out. 6. A special gun will be used, which is a flak (anti-aircraft) gun. There will be one (unmanned) of these guns on the top of every tower. This means you can rush your squads up to the top of the tower and use them to prevent flyers fom landing. The stats on the flak gun are: TL 4 Range: 24" UR: 4 Dmg vs. non-flyer: 1d10; Dmg vs. flyer: 2d20 PwrRq: 4 Non-explosive 7. For the purposes of this game, vehicle machine guns will be treated as their "laser" counterparts, but will not be explosive. 8. How to win: There are 3 power sources, one in each tower. They are 1 blok big. This means a normal troop can carry or throw it without penalty. In order to capture it, you must bring it back to your command ship (designate one ship as your command ship by putting a flag or something on it) and keep it there for 2 turns. Power sources are indestructible, but can sink. If it sinks, it's gone (unless someone builds a salvage sub or platform, then we will figure out what to do by consensus...note doing this will take CP away from more valuable GUNS!). Therefore, there can be multiple winners. If you win, you get a CP bonus to carry on to the next battle. You can win by: * Capturing a power source (75 CP) - or - * Be the last man (or woman) standing (100 CP) ------------------------------------- That's it! I have already started building the platform. Please read the rules (the Word or .txt rules, as the others are not in HTML yet). You can find them by going here: http://www.teleport.com/~rayhawks/revision.htm Hope to see you all the first Sunday in August. We can set up a time and I will give you directions as it approaches.
