Valstier's Zoological Gardens Intro: The Zoo is named after a Mystical bird that has been around since Ancient times... Valstier is now 156 years old (according to studies) and one of the oldest birds to ever live... Because Valstier is a rare, precious bird, it is unknown how long they will survive till. 'Now, let me take you on a 'tour'... (click on pics to show larger picture (opens in a new window). 1, The Entrance of the Zoo - The Zoo boasts buildings designed from various era's and styles combined. The yellow and black building (Valstier Station) is multi-levelled and has several balconies. The Station was built before the Zoo and has been added on since then. - (A couple of Men bring in some new garden accessories...) 2, Left, Valstier Station - Top Right, Lion's den, and Brown Bears enclosure... Middle, Bird aviary (Owl's, Parrots, Bats and Rosella's) - Entrance (features entrance area, souvenir/ticket shop and information) - Right, Zebra House (features theatrette, vet, first aid, museum, film developing, rest room area (with parental facilities), library (internet included), Bear look-out, restaurant, Zoo Keepers quarters, lost property, café and gift shop) - Bottom Right, car park area... 3, Centre, Bird aviary - Bottom, Bear enclosure and Lion's den. "Quick... someone stop that Goose..." a Goose has escaped from the Animal Farm Nursery and knocked several people over in it's path... so far it has not been found... 4, (Bird's eye view of the Giraffe and Crocodile/Alligator inhabitant). Valstier lookout (top of Valstier Station) is a great place to meet Gerry the Giant Giraffe. Gerry was imported from a far away land, He was too big and became in everyone's way, Gerry needed a place where He felt He belonged to... - Hop aboard the 'Bumble Bee' Train, it leaves from The Grand Plaza Station every 10 minutes... on the way you will see the Crocodiles and Alligators right before your very eyes... mind those legs... 5, Another view of Valstier Look-out and Station... (entrance (B) to the Station). 6, The 'Bumble Bee' Train heads towards Valstier Station... - Gerry in his humble home, eventually the Elephant's will live in Gerry's home when they arrive from Overseas... meanwhile Gerry awaits for his new home to be built... 7, Valstier!!! High above on his perch... He is courageous and highly protective of his Keeper... the Zoo Keeper, Mr Stan Peters. Valstier has a wonderful view and can see much of the park... You will find Valstier only comes down from his perch when it is feeding time, or his Keeper is in sight... 8, (Picture taken from the top balcony of Zebra House)... you can see much of the Zoo from up here too... no need to climb Valstier's perch ;) 9, The 'Bumble Bee' Train climbing up Crocodile Hill towards Valstier Station... 'Don't let the Crocodiles or Alligators bite you on the way!' 10, Top Middle, Animal Farm Nursery... Black Thorn (Horse), Penny (Pig), and Shaun (Sheep), all live here... Clarence the Goose, has gone on a wild Goose chase!!! - Top Left, Wallace the Whale, who is the latest Edition to the Zoo, nestles in nicely in his new home, Middle Left, Frog and Duck pond (but where did all the ducks go?) - Middle, Creepy Crawlies Castle (snakes, scorpions (inc rare species), rats, spiders (inc rare species)... 11, Left, Monkey Island - Middle Top, Dolphins, Sharks... - Middle, Polar Bears Paradise & the Octopus - Bottom, Crabs and Shell Fish... Right, Creepy Crawlies Castle... 12, The Crowds start to gather around as the Frisky Polar Bears awake, it is feeding time and they check out the environment... 3 Polar Bears live here... will there be any more? 13, A pleasant view of Crocodile Hill, Valstier Station, The 'Bumble Bee' Train and far beyond... 14, Another view of The Polar Bears Paradise and aquatic area... 15, "Excellent! The Elephants have arrived, here come Zosha and Zooch!... watch out everybody they are coming through"... everyone gather's around to see the new arrivals... "careful now" - Left, Horse-shoe Inn... where you will find the two new twin foal's, Sampson and Simpson, they too are now awaiting a new home to be built, as word has it that this zoo will become so popular, it will have to extend almost immediately! - Quick.. call in construction! 16, The 'Bumble Bee' Zoo Train pulls into The Grand Plaza Station... "enjoy your stay, we will meet back here in 1 hour!"... 17, South East view of The Grand Plaza Station 18, 'feeling hungry yet?', don't try fishing for our fish... come on into 'Dolphin's' the Sea food Restaurant and Buffet... we also have alfresco dining and take-away... but sorry... our Dolphin's are also not on the menu... (Sting Rays on the left) 19, Bottom Left, Dolphins (Dolphin's like to play 'water soccer', Sharks (inc sword fish, great white shark and the big grey), a 2 levelled wharf/jetty... - Right, Polar Bear Paradise 20, 'Stop Monkeying around' and come on down to see our Wild and Wacky Monkey's... but watch out for those falling banana's!
