This Lego® model of a BR24 in 7-wide has been built after some construction papers of the real engine and pictures of Fleischmann(c) and Märklin(c) models. The BR24 has been a design of the Deutsche Reichsbahn and the first engines were produced in 1926 and basically meant for small passenger trains in the flat lands of north east Germany. Due to their reliable design they got the nickname "Steppenpferd" (= prairie horse). Later these engines have been used for any kind of trains, freight and passenger trains as well.
