This was the final year for hardtop Coupe de Villes, and set a sales record. The 1973 added mandated energy absorbing bumpers, and other details to the redesigned 1971 bodies. Engine was the mighty 472 CID V7, but now at 345 bhp, due to SAE and emissions.
