Ford Britain launched the first generation Cortina - named after the glamorous ski resort - in 1962, under the codenamed Archbishop. The car was conventional RWD powered by a 1.2L or 1.5L 4-cylinder. Later Lotus Cortina used 1.6L DOHC.
