The FIAT Tipo, or type 160 was launched in 1988. A humble family hatchback, the Tipo was much more significant, as it formed the architectural basis for nearly all the C-segment vehicles from the amalgamated FIAT, Alfa Romeo and Lancia, about 20 cars.
