In 1955 Mercedes-Benz introduced the 190SL as a low-priced, low-powered companion Roadster to the mighty 300SL Gullwing. Derived from the W121 Compact Saloon, the underpinnings were much more modest than the 300SL, including the 77kW 1.9 litre 4-cylinder.
